Roots that Run Deep.
The Washington, D.C. Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of the Church of God in Christ was born from a vision of spiritual revival and civic empowerment in our nation's capital. In 1958, Kelsey Temple Church of God in Christ became the first COGIC congregation in the city, marking the beginning of a legendary legacy.
Over the decades, the jurisdiction has expanded to include dozens of vibrant congregations across the metropolitan area. From the early days of humble gatherings to our current standing as a spiritual anchor for the city, our focus remains on preaching the Gospel, perfecting the saints, and serving the community.
